Recreation Committee are looking for volunteers. Please contact any of the above if you feel you want to help out with keeping recreation alive and working in our Town.
On July 23rd, 2014, a Multi-Purpose Court with a concrete slab 65′ x 125′ was started, in conjunction with MIGA and the Town on a 90/10 cost shared basis. Weather permitting this should be completed before the end of next week. Once the concrete has set, the town will continue this project by placing dasherboards, glass, lighting, change room, etc., in the area.
A design for the Recreation Field (BallField) has been submitted to MIGA, hopefully in the future we can see a start on this project.
The Meadows Recreation Committee are proud to announce the construction of the Town’s New multi-Purpose Court. Through hard work from Committee members in conjunction with the Town, we are please to offer this new facility which will be ready for this coming fall. This facility will be the home of many community events including: ball hockey, ice hockey, concerts, basketball and other outdoor sporting events. The Committee would like to thank the Provincial Government for their contributions to this project. Next on the radar for the Recreation Committee, will be the development of a new Ball Field. Preliminary work has begun, and we are hoping to assure some funding in the next year. The Committee hopes everyone had a great summer, and we look forward to seeing all persons both young and young at heart at our new facility.
