Tulip Planting to Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday

The “Little Green Thumbs” group from Templeton Academy along with teachers Natasha Caines-Buffett and Joy Burt attended a tulip planting. The tulips are planted in the form of a Canada flag 20′ wide x 10′ high as a back drop to our tree gardens. Vessey’s Seeds provided the Town with 1000 free tulips – 500 red impression and 500 white hakuun and the Town purchased an additional 250 to complete the project.

Meadows was one of 150 winners from across Canada to win, with five winners in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Town would like to thank those that assisted with the planting and former Deputy Mayor Roger Wight for suggesting that we apply for the grant.
